Job summary

The Chefs' Warehouse, a leading distributor of premium ingredients, is seeking a Warehouse/Driver Supervisor to oversee daily operations, route planning, and driver performance. This role ensures DOT compliance, maintains driver files, and coordinates with sales teams to meet delivery obligations.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of relevant experience and are adept at staff training, vehicle maintenance oversight, and logistics coordination in a fast-paced environment.

• 1+ year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise daily activities of warehouse/driver personnel including route assignments, vehicle assignments, customer deliveries and vendor pick-ups.
• Ensure compliance with USDOT requirements and other regulatory standards for vehicle use, maintenance, and driver certifications.
• Train warehouse/driver personnel to required standards and conduct periodic evaluations of driver performance.
• Maintain USDOT-required driver files.
• Maintain and update work and duty schedules for warehouse/driver personnel.
• Ensure vehicles are clean and meet maintenance standards.
• Report service issues to leasing company and coordinate resolutions with appropriate sales staff.
• Respond to and resolve customer complaints with immediate problem-solving and corrective actions when required.
• Train warehouse/drivers in material handling on and off vehicles.
• Evaluate employee performance with coaching or corrective actions as needed.
• Conduct accident investigations and assist with insurance reporting.
• Monitor trip logs and vehicle tracking systems and prepare reports.
• Maintain mileage records for taxes and leasing companies.
• Gain proficiency in the company’s sales processing software and related systems.
• Drive routes during peak times to fulfill delivery obligations.
• Hold weekly staff meetings to communicate new procedures and company information.
