Job summary

Bunzl Distribution in the United States seeks a Transportation Supervisor to lead the branch warehouse Transportation Department. You will manage staff, interface with Sales, Purchasing and HR, and drive safe, efficient shipping and route optimization.

Your leadership will ensure compliant operations and cost-effective transportation. The role requires five+ years in warehouse transportation management, strong organizational and leadership skills, and familiarity with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Formal leadership of warehouse transportation teams preferred.
• Experience coordinating transportation in a distribution environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and proposes methods of sustained productivity increases.
• Maintains a clean, orderly and organized work environment.
• Ensures safe working conditions including proper training on safety methods.
• Demonstrates experience with transportation routing and route optimization for efficient delivery schedules.
• Manages driver logs, fuel tax reports, accident files and registers.
• Counsels and manages employees on attendance, performance and misconduct.
• Oversees maintenance and repairs of transportation-related equipment.
• Maximizes cube fill rate and minimizes delivery costs while boosting driver productivity.
• Directs proper shipping and loading procedures.
• Audits driver logs, manifests, OSHA postings and related paperwork for compliance.
