Job summary

Fives in Louisville, KY seeks a Logistics Supervisor to lead a unionized Receiving team, owning processes and driving continuous improvement. You will coordinate with Safety, Quality, Procurement, Inventory, and Project Management, and ensure accurate SAP workflows.

  • Ensures the Receiving process is executed accurately and efficiently. This includes the execution of SAP transactions.
  • Works closely with Inventory Management during the Put-Away process to ensure inventory accuracy is maintained.
  • Review and assess the Receiving and Put-Away processes to implement process improvements.
  • Analyzes and supports workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Maintains all recordkeeping which includes receipts, transfer orders, packing slips, and time/attendance records.
  • Conducts performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • May directly supervise up to 20 employees.
  • Must be able to work all shifts and weekends, if necessary.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees or organization.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Travel

This position requires limited business travel by airplane, car, and/or train and public transportation. International travel is also anticipated. The candidate must be capable of completing airplane trips of 10 or more hours. Overnight travel is estimated as 5% of the time.
