Logistics Specialist, QRO Logistics Team

Amazon is looking to hire a Logistics Specialist to support our data centers. The Logistics Specialist reviews Data Center inventory, inbound shipments, and ongoing demand to ensure proper stock levels are maintained across all locations to support build and repair activities. Working with the Logistics Manager, they create plans to optimize the flow of parts through their lifecycle; tracking inventory location, movement, age, and turns. They work closely with Data Center Operations Technicians and Data Center Engineers to fulfill parts quickly and accurately. They collaborate with Procurement and Hardware Engineering to purchase new parts and interface directly with vendors to process RMAs and receive replacements. Regular communication with vendors to resolve issues and clarify business requirements is essential, requiring strong communication skills.

Responsibilities may include manual tasks such as assembling, addressing, stamping, and arranging shipments of merchandise and materials. They may also assist in daily scheduling of deliveries and pickups to and from production locations. Handling incoming shipments may involve unpacking boxes and verifying contents.

The earliest expected start date for this position is in the third quarter of 2022.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma
  • 2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, inventory, and warehousing practices
  • 2+ years of experience with inventory tracking, cycle counts, and data analytics
  • 1+ years of material forecasting experience
  • Ability to lift loads of up to 49 pounds and carry them for short distances
  • Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance
  • Ability to provide after-hours support as needed (overtime)
  • Fluent in English, with the ability to read, write, speak, and communicate complex technical instructions and concepts
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience working in a Data Center
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Proficiency with WMS/IMS systems
  • Strong inventory management skills
  • US visa preferred
