Job Description: Logistics Support Specialist

Supports the care delivery process by performing required support activities, including assisting with non-clinical tasks to support care delivery. Responsibilities include:

1. Transporting patients, belongings, and deceased individuals to and from departments.
2. Assisting floor staff to prepare patients for transport and properly identifying patients with I.D. bands.
3. Managing resources such as supplies, medications (excluding Scheduled Controlled Substances), linen, equipment, and other materials for patient care.
4. Maintaining current knowledge of departmental resources and operations.
5. Supporting data entry for performance metrics.
6. Identifying opportunities for improvement, proposing solutions, and working to implement them.
7. Participating as a team member by supporting clinical staff, mentoring new staff, and providing excellent customer service.
8. Keeping supply and storage areas organized and clean.
9. Ensuring a safe environment by maintaining order and compliance with OSHA, Department of Health, and Joint Commission regulations.

Work is performed in a clinical environment. The role requires adherence to organizational policies and procedures. This description includes typical responsibilities necessary for the position.

Geisinger offers a $2,500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates, starting wages at $15.25/hour with increases for experienced individuals, and up to $2 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Up to $40,000 in financial support is available for nursing education.

• Hiring Incentive: $2,500 sign-on bonus paid in two installments, with stipulations.
