Job description

Job Responsibilities

1. Support the care delivery process by performing care support activities.
2. Assist with non-clinical activities required to support care delivery.
3. Transport patients, belongings, and deceased individuals to and from assigned departments.
4. Assist floor staff in preparing patients for transport.
5. Properly identify patients prior to transport and verify the presence of an I.D. band.
6. Manage resources in an assigned clinical area, including procurement, transport, storage, preparation, cleaning, and maintenance assistance.
7. Handle supplies, medications (excluding Scheduled Controlled Substances as defined by the DEA), linen, equipment, and other materials necessary for patient care and activities.
8. Maintain current knowledge of supplies, equipment, services, and operations provided by Support Services departments.
9. Support data entry to track performance metrics as required.
10. Identify opportunities for improvement, propose solutions, and actively work to implement them to enhance operations and efficiency.
11. Participate actively as a team member, supporting clinical staff, mentoring new staff, and delivering high-quality customer service.
12. Keep supply rooms, equipment storage, patient rooms, and other areas clean and organized.
13. Create a safe environment by maintaining a neat and orderly workspace and taking corrective measures as needed.
14. Follow OSHA, Department of Health, and Joint Commission regulations.

Work Environment and Policies

Benefits and Incentives

Geisinger offers a $2,500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates, a minimum starting rate of $15.25 with potential increases for experience, up to $2 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts, and up to $40,000 in financial support for nursing education.

• Hiring Incentive: $2,500 sign-on bonus paid in two installments, with stipulations.
• Hours: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
• Work Schedule: Every third weekend and two holidays per year.
