Job summary

United Rentals in New York is seeking a Logistics Specialist – Matting Solutions to lead the customer experience from quotation to final billing, estimating costs for materials and transportation for crane mat sales and support. The role requires collaborating with sales, finance, and operations, designing cost-effective solutions, developing project schedules, and ensuring budget-conscious execution.

A Bachelor’s degree is desirable and 5 years’ estimating/PM experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is desirable.
• 5 years’ experience in Estimating/Project Management.
• Ability to prioritize, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Strong understanding of Project Management and Lean construction methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project lifecycle, ensuring timely and budget-compliant execution.
• Design and estimate cost-effective solutions for projects focusing on materials and logistics.
• Collaborate with sales, finance, and operations teams to optimize project outcomes.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, manage logistics, and ensure seamless execution.
• Perform detailed cost analysis and manage procurement and quality control of materials.

As the Logistics Specialist – Matting Solutions you will lead the customer experience from initial quotation to final billing, and accurately estimating costs related to materials and transportation for crane mat sales and support.

Formerly YAK ACCESS, Matting Solutions is now part of the United Rentals Team and is one of North America’s leading providers of right-of-way access solutions. From pipelines to power lines to civil projects, we offer unmatched expertise in total access planning, clearing, site work and restoration services.

What you’ll do:

• Oversee project lifecycle, ensuring timely and budget-compliant execution
• Design and estimate cost-effective solutions for various projects, focusing on materials and logistics
• Collaborate with sales, finance, and operations teams to optimize project outcomes
• Develop and maintain project schedules, manage logistics, and ensure seamless execution
• Perform detailed cost analysis and manage procurement and quality control of materials
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is desirable
• 5 years’ experience in Estimating/Project Management
• Ability to prioritize, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Strong understanding of all Project Management and Lean construction methodologies and principles
• Knowledge of methods, materials, equipment, and safety hazards of construction projects
• Ability to coordinate large construction projects and monitor the work of contractors
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, and Project and B2W software is a plus
