Job summary

Luminex Corporation in Austin, TX is seeking a Logistics Specialist I to coordinate the execution of clinical studies, manage shipments, and maintain inventory in accordance with global regulations and SOPs. This role forms the operational backbone of the department's sample and supply chain.

The position requires 1+ year in logistics, strong communication, and the ability to work on-site with regular physical activity and lifting. Excellent teamwork and problem solving are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ year in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse environment.
  • Must hold an active, unexpired driver's license.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage dynamic requests and meet tight deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Highly organized with time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare outgoing shipments, select containers, pack materials, and print labels for domestic and international orders.
  • Receive inbound shipments, compare packing slips to purchase orders, inspect for damage or discrepancy, and document findings per SOP.
  • Sort, count, package, label, and store inventory to designated bin locations.
  • Transport packages to and from campus buildings and warehouses.
  • Follow processes to verify shipment quantities, destination, routing, and carrier assignments before release.
  • Actively monitor shipments to prevent delays or lost shipments.
  • Communicate directly with logistics carriers, third-party brokers, and site contacts to schedule and confirm daily shipments.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in LIMS, Smartsheets (or equivalent tracking tools), and update logs at time of activity.
  • Order and restock consumable shipping supplies, and flag low-stock conditions proactively.
  • Comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Scope

This position plays an integral role in the logistical coordination for the execution of clinical studiesin accordance withapplicable global regulations and standards (e.g.21 CFR Part 812, CLSI, ICH) thatdemonstratethe performance and utility of in vitro diagnostic products.The Logistics Coordinator I is the operational backbone of the department's sample and supply chain.

Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare outgoing shipments, select containers, pack materials, and print labels for domestic and international orders of ambient or cold chain materials.

Receive inbound shipments, compare packing slips topurchaseorders,inspect fordamage or discrepancy, and document findings per SOP.

Sort, count, package, label, and put away inventory todesignatedbin locations with accuracy.

Transport packages to and from campus buildings and warehouses.

Follow processes to verify shipment quantities, destination, routing, and carrier assignments before release.

Activelymonitorshipments to prevent delays or lost shipments.

Communicate directly withlogisticscarriers, third-party brokers, and site contacts to schedule and confirm daily shipments consistent with customer and study expectations.

Maintainaccurateinventory records in LIMS,smartsheets(or equivalent tracking tools), andupdate logs at time of activity with no deferred entries.

Order and restock consumable shipping supplies, as well as flag low-stock conditions proactively.

Comply withthe company’s Quality Management System policies andprocedures.
