Job description

THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD

JOB SUMMARY: MCSG is seeking a Logistics Specialist to manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, ensuring accurate inventory control and efficient organization of supplies. Responsibilities include authorizing shipments, recording inventory transactions, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining communication with suppliers and vendors. The role requires proficiency in inventory tools and Microsoft Office, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform regular physical tasks. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (0800-1600) with occasional on-call support as needed. Location: On-site at Vandenberg SFB, CA.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Performs stock control of on-site spares, miscellaneous parts, and work order residue.
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Maintains work area and serves as contact for suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Ensures materials, parts, and assemblies are stored efficiently, and shipments are prepared according to documentation, noting and reporting discrepancies and damages; routes materials to storage locations; stores, stacks, or palletizes materials; and takes inventory of stored materials.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience with Inventory Control Tools.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Frequently handle, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: 5 years of logistics support experience.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Associate's degree in logistics, business administration, supply chain management, or related field.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Top Secret/SCI clearance
