Caterpillar Inc. in Brooklyn Park, MN is seeking a Logistics Specialist to support Inventory Control & Supply Chain Engineering activities related to production and NPI. The role requires familiarity with inventory systems, SAP kanban cycles, and hands-on material handling.

You will work on 1st shift, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with overtime possible. The position includes wage extension of $28.35/hour and a Day-One Benefits program, plus 401k matching and company contributions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in materials-related roles (Material Specialist, Shipper, Receiver, Lead) in a collaborative environment.
• Minimum 1 year experience with ERP systems (Mach1 SAP or similar) including material movements and transactions.
• Intermediate computer skills (MS Office/Excel).
• Experience operating material handling equipment or prior certification (counterbalance, turret, reach, picker).

What to Expect:

As a Logistics Specialist, you will support Inventory Control & Supply Chain Engineering activities related to production and New Product Introduction (NPI). In addition, it is expected that the candidate is aware of inventory management systems and can integrate this into their activities.

Pay Rate and Schedule:

The position includes a total extension wage of $28.35 /hour plus a comprehensive Day-One Benefit program. Paid weekly. Paid time-off: Vacation/PTO, holiday, and Winter Holiday*. 401k matching AND additional 2-5% annual company contribution* to 401k’s.

Openings available on 1st Shift: Monday –Friday, 06:00 a.m. - 02:00 p.m. Overtime opportunities may be available on a voluntary basis based on business needs and with leader prior authorization. All initial communication and status updates will be via email.

Your Role Day to Day:

The job duties for this role will implement Supply Chain solutions. To be successful, this position must utilize technical skills and soft skills described below.

• Support processing areas and resolve inventory record accuracy issues
• Inventory transfer & rearrangement planning & execution
• Standardize warehouse storage & manufacturing point-of-use (POU) presentation including labeling
• Material Handling standard work documentation enhancements
• Monitoring of returnable rack repair queues (including replacement materials stocking)
• Data purification & analysis including SAP control cycles & kanban’s

Required Qualification for Consideration(minimum):

• Minimum of 1 year experience in one of the following areas: Material Specialist, Shipper, Receiver, Lead or equivalent experience materials in a highly collaborative environment
• Minimum of 1 year experience of ERP system (Mach1 SAP or other) experience including material movements and transactions
• Intermediate computer skills (including MS Office/Excel)
• Minimum 1 year experience operating material handling equipment or prior certification (i.e. counterbalance, turret, reach, picker)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

In this role you will be on your feet and active, or sitting, for a minimum of 8 hour shifts and frequently lifting a maximum of 35 pounds. Our manufacturing facility is a clean environment with frequently changing temperatures that may require climbing on equipment, machines, ladders and various step stools to work at different heights. Operate material handling equipment (i.e. counterbalance, turret, reach truck, picker). This position may also require you to work in tight spaces, or in awkward positions. Exposure to magnets that may impact medical devices. You may also kneel, squat, and crawl on knees, work in awkward positions, including forward reach, lateral reach, squat, overhead reaching, twisting, and forward head and rotation of neck.You may also perform repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling, rotating, and will use fine motor skills. In this position you may operate overhead cranes, use fine motor skills to repetitively grasp, push, pull and rotate, and pull. Working in an environment where workers in some areas will use manual torque tools to torque requirements of at least 250 Newton meters. Limited exposure to welding fumes and noise levels of 85db or greater. Use of hand tools including band cutters and box cutter.

Summary Pay Range:

$28.35 - $36.23
