Job summary

Barnhart Logistics is seeking an entry-level Logistics Specialist to join the team in a normal office setting. The role begins with training and involves coordinating freight, building customer and carrier relationships, and negotiating rates.

Hours shift to evenings on certain days; the position requires data entry, basic math, and teamwork to meet goals. Comprehensive benefits and paid time off are included.

Barnhart Logistics looking for an entry-level Logistics Specialist to join the team!

Once trained - hours will be Wednesday-Friday 10:30 AM - 7:30 PM & Saturday/Sunday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Responsibilities as a Logistics Specialist - Level 1:

• Secure freight of all kinds and all equipment types for direct customers
• Build and maintain customer and carrier business relationships to improve transportation efficiencies for them
• Quote, bid, and negotiate rates with customers and freight carriers
• Schedule and track shipments from start to finish and report back to the customer
• Contribute to and be involved in team and individual goals
• Data entry and basic math
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

• Prior experience in Logistics/Supply Chain not preferred
• Prior experience in the transportation industry preferred but not required
• Prior experience in a fast-paced office environment preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Strong customer service and follow-through
• General computer knowledge a must
• Attention to detail and multi-tasking a must
• Works well in a team environment
