Overview
The Logistics Solutions Engineer designs, models, and delivers data-driven logistics and supply chain solutions that improve cost efficiency, service reliability, and create a competitive advantage through data-driven decision-making and innovation. The designs will be scalable, technology-enabled supply chain solutions. This role serves as a bridge between sales, operations, and technology teams combining engineering, analytics, and customer engagement to translate complex logistics challenges into scalable, executable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Optimization
- Design and implement yard services solutions across spotting, gate, and shuttling offerings.
- Develop models for capacity, routing, labor, and process efficiency improvement.
- Analyze logistics data to identify inefficiencies, cost drivers, and optimization opportunities.
- Create network strategies and operational workflows to improve throughput and service levels.
- Partner with sales teams to understand customer requirements and develop tailored solutions.
- Lead discovery sessions, site assessments, and technical presentations.
- Translate technical designs into business value through ROI models and cost-benefit analysis.
- Present solutions, demos, and proposals to support customer decision-making.
Data, Modeling & Performance Measurement
- Build analytical models and performance dashboards to quantify solution impact.
- Define and track KPIs to measure logistics performance of solution and scenarios.
- Conduct scenario planning, forecasting, and sensitivity analysis to validate solution viability.
- Use data visualization to communicate insights to stakeholders.
- Design and support implementation of YMX Technology Systems (YMS, Gate AI Technology).
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve logistics visibility and efficiency.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to enhance solution capabilities.
- Stay current on logistics technologies, automation, and industry trends.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with operations, finance, and engineering teams to ensure solutions are feasible and scalable.
- Support solution handoff and implementation planning.
- Partner with commercial teams for technology education and customer needs understanding.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements across the supply chain.
- Conduct process analysis, time studies, and network assessments.
- Stay current on logistics technologies, automation, and industry trends.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
- 3–7+ years of experience in logistics engineering, supply chain design, or solutions.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data modeling and process optimization.
- Experience designing or improving logistics systems (transportation, warehouse, or yard operations).
Preferred
- Experience with simulation, network modeling, or optimization tools.
- Knowledge of TMS, WMS, YMS, or ERP platforms.
- Familiarity with automation, robotics, or advanced logistics technologies.
- Experience in pre-sales, consulting, or customer-facing engineering roles.
