Job summary

Sussex Wire is hiring a Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to manage inbound/outbound shipments, material handling, and ERP data entry. The role requires precise counting, safety adherence, and strong communication with production and quality teams in a manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of shipping/receiving experience, is detail oriented, and can multitask in a fast-paced environment. Forklift certification is available in-house; ERP familiarity is preferred.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
At least 1 year of shipping/receiving experience in manufacturing.
Ability to read and write English and follow instructions.
Basic math skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Experience operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts; willing to obtain in-house certification.
Experience with ERP systems such as Visual or similar.
Experience with UPS, FedEx, and DHL shipping systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of raw materials, finished goods, tooling, and supplies.
Support shipment of finished goods and supplies, including counting, packing, labeling, and entering work orders.
Provide precise counts, including for very small parts.
Schedule carrier pickups according to purchase orders and shipping instructions.
Coordinate inbound and outbound deliveries with secondary processors.
Prepare bills of lading and other required shipping documentation.
Process shipments using carrier systems (UPS, FedEx, DHL).
Review packing slips and enter information into the ERP system.
Acknowledge receipt of goods against purchase orders in the processing database.
Receive and issue raw materials to production work orders.
Move materials and finished goods using carts, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
Report defective materials to Quality and Supply Chain.
Monitor shipping material inventory and submit requisitions.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and comply with safety policies.
Communicate effectively with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams.
