Job summary

SMX is seeking a Project Manager to join the integrated program management office (PMO) in a leadership role supporting SOCPAC logistics projects, and will serve as a liaison with government points of contact.

The ideal candidate will assist the program leadership team with administrative oversight, operations coordination, and collaborate with multiple commercial vendors to achieve the overall mission objectives.

Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
  • Proven DoD/government contracting experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Experience in PACOM AOR managing transportation networks.
  • Experience coordinating Air Force Joint Inventory processes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee financials and contracting for all project requirements.
  • Report status, develop program documentation, and maintain production/quality metrics.
  • Support operational planning, execution and evaluation of a multi-faceted program.
  • Establish strong relationships with government program managers.
  • Manage daily communications, deliverable tracking, and financial reporting with subcontractors.

Job description

SMX is seeking a Project Manager to join the integrated program management office (PMO) in a leadership position supporting SOCPAC logistics projects, and will serve as a liaison with government points of contact. The ideal candidate will assist the program leadership team with administrative oversight, operations coordination, and collaborate with multiple commercial vendors to achieve the overall mission objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct financial oversight and execution of contracting functions for all project requirements.

  • Reports status, develops program/project-related documentation, implements lessons learned, and updates and maintains production and quality metrics for assigned programs and projects.

  • Supports operational planning, execution, and evaluation of a multi-faceted program that requires collaboration with customers.

  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with the government’s program managers.

  • Manages daily communication, deliverable tracking, and financial reporting status with multiple subcontractors for assigned projects.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Required clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI

  • Demonstrable success in government contracting (DoD preferred) through prior work experience in a customer-facing role.

  • Previous experience in PACOM AOR managing transportation networks.

  • Previous experience coordinating and executing Airforce Joint Inventory process.

  • Extensive knowledge of MIL and Commercial transportation documentation (import/export, VAT Exempt, SDDGs, etc).

  • Knowledge of process improvement techniques and ability to direct improvement initiatives.

  • Experience interacting with and briefing senior government on topics related to programmatic, and financial status.

  • Experience supporting large contracts leading complex development, production, fielding of platforms, and/or support initiatives with technical objectives.

  • Experience with the Special Operations Command (SOCOM) in a Program Management or Technical Leadership role.

  • Knowledge of different government funding and authority types.

  • Ability to travel (no more than 5%) – Active Passport through 2027 .

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline – desired MA/MS.

  • 10+ years of management/supervision experience in transportation.

  • 3+ years of government financial experience.

  • Experience with the Joint Forces in a Program Management or Technical Leadership Role.

$135,000—$165,000 USD
