Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a warehouse operations specialist for its Fountain Inn, SC facility. The role focuses on maintaining operational health, supporting warehouse systems, and driving continuous improvement projects.

It is a 1st shift, five-days-a-week, on-site position with up to 10% travel. The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, manage supplier and PO activities, and contribute to Lean/Six Sigma initiatives while maintaining meticulous attention to

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operational health and efficiency of the facility.
• Assist with warehouse management system activities and operational needs.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and Six Sigma projects.
• Maintain and coordinate the facility’s continuous improvement boards and related activities.
• Participate in value stream mapping and health assessments to identify opportunities.
• Coordinate facility projects, milestones, and follow-up actions.
• Assist with contractor coordination and management as needed.
• Monitor purchase orders and invoicing to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support priorities and resolve issues.
• Track improvement activities and ensure sustainment.

• This role is 1st shift, Monday – Friday.
• This role is 100% on-site with no opportunity for hybrid or remote schedules

What You Will Do:

• Support day-to-day operational health and efficiency of the facility.
• Assist with warehouse management system activities and operational needs.

• Maintain and coordinate the facility’s continuous improvement boards and related activities.

What You Have (Basic Requirements):

• Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
• Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
• Logistics Management: Knowledge of logistics and management; ability to follow proper processes and run operations for effective and efficient movement of materials and finished products.
• Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to independently drive projects and assignments with minimal oversight.
• Strong computer and technical skills, including comfort learning and working within warehouse systems.
• Experience with Blue Yonder warehouse management software or similar warehouse management systems.
• Experience supporting continuous improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma initiatives.

Summary Pay Range:

$28.70 - $43.10
