Job summary

Cargo Transporters, Inc. is seeking a Logistics Planner to daily plan backhauls regionally across NC, SC and VA, ensuring efficient and cost-effective routing for all power units.

You will analyze order requirements, develop loads and routes, and coordinate with Fleet Leaders to meet customer needs. The role requires analytical thinking, effective communication, and adaptability, with knowledge of AS-400 and routing software.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 year degree required; Bachelor degree preferred.
• Previous experience in the trucking industry preferred.
• Ability to think analytically.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to adapt to changing work environments.
• Knowledge of AS-400 computer system and internet-based routing software.

Responsibilities

• Develop daily/weekly load requirements into planning of loads and routes.
• Ensure timely pickup and delivery of all loads.
• Daily monitoring of empty mile report for inaccuracies.
• Monitor late deliveries and communicate issues to customers.
• Reduce empty miles fleet-wide whenever possible.
• Collaborate with Fleet Leaders and Customer Service to meet customer needs.
• Assist management with special projects.

Classification: Non-Exempt

Primary Function

Daily plan the backhauls regional (NC, SC & VA) for all Cargo Transporter’s power units in an efficient and cost effective manner.

• Develops and analyzes daily/weekly order requirements into planning of loads and routes
• Work to ensure timely pick up and delivery of all loads
• Daily monitoring of empty mile report for inaccuracies
• Monitor late deliveries and communicate any and all issues to customers
• Reduce empty miles fleet wide whenever possible
• Work collaboratively with Fleet Leaders and Customer Service to ensure customer needs are met
• Assist management with special projects
