Logistics Operations Analyst/Sr. Analyst

Purpose:

The Logistics Operations Analyst is responsible for ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products to customers, managing inventory in SAP, and optimizing logistics processes. This role involves analyzing logistics data, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), and implementing improvements to enhance yard operations. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, keen attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach to logistics execution.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the end-to-end logistics process, from receiving customer requests to coordinating deliveries with yards and carriers. Oversee shipment dispatches, ensure timely delivery, and address any logistical challenges that may arise.
  2. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to carrier performance, yard operations, and truck turnaround times. Identify trends, develop insights, and propose solutions for efficiency improvements.
  3. Oversee and maintain accurate inventory records in SAP, including receptions, dispatches, transformations, and returns. Reconcile third-party yard inventories to ensure SAP reflects accurate stock quantities and descriptions.
  4. Process calculations and SAP entries to support the yard’s net invoicing scheme, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in billing.
  5. Lead or support projects aimed at improving yard operations, such as setting up third-party yard partnerships, implementing new systems, and enhancing customer service processes.
  6. Ensure that yard facilities and resources are well-maintained and protected from misuse or damage.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or related field, or equivalent experience in logistics or yard operations.
  2. Proficient in SAP for inventory and logistics management; experience with logistics data analysis and KPI reporting.
  3. Strong ability to analyze logistics data, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions for operational efficiency.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, third-party vendors, and customers.
  5. Capable of making swift, effective decisions under pressure to resolve logistical issues and improve yard performance.
  6. Demonstrated ability to prioritize customer needs and enhance service quality in logistics operations.
