Epihermetics is seeking a Logistics and Materials Supervisor to oversee the movement of materials, parts, and assemblies across departments in alignment with production schedules and priorities. Qualifications

SUMMARY:

The Logistics and Materials Supervisor supervises, coordinates, and expedites the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within and between departments in accordance with production schedules, shipping requirements, and operational priorities. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this role is responsible for daily execution across Shipping and Receiving, the Stockroom, and Housing and Material Preparation, with a strong focus on material availability, inventory accuracy, shipment accuracy, safety, organization, and on-time support of production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise, coordinate, and expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within and between departments based on production schedules, shipping requirements, and department priorities.
  • Provide daily supervision, work direction, coaching, training, and support to employees assigned to Shipping and Receiving, the Stockroom, and Housing and Material Preparation.
  • Review production schedules, shortage information, and department priorities to determine required or overdue materials; locate materials and coordinate timely delivery to the point of use.
  • Review incoming and outgoing shipments for the correct quantity, material type, part number, condition, documentation, and destination.
  • Coordinate receiving, stocking, picking, staging, packing, and shipping activities to support production and customer delivery requirements.
  • Arrange in-plant transfers of materials and components to meet production schedules and change operational priorities.
  • Coordinate with department supervisors regarding the repair, assembly, preparation, movement, and transportation of materials to the appropriate departments.
  • Maintain accurate material locations and inventory transactions, support cycle counts, physical inventories, variance investigation, and corrective action.
  • Monitor material shortages, late receipts, staging constraints, and shipment risks; elevate issues promptly and support recovery actions.
  • Ensure housing and material preparation activities are completed accurately and on time in accordance with work instructions and production requirements.
  • Prepare and communicate material-flow, inventory, shipping, receiving, shortage, and departmental status reports for the Supply Chain Manager and other management personnel.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Production Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Customer Service, and other departments to resolve material and shipment issues.
  • Support Kanban replenishment, point-of-use inventory, supermarket controls, and other material-flow systems established by the organization.
  • Ensure ERP transactions for receipts, inventory movements, material issues, returns, and shipments are completed accurately and timely.
  • Drive continuous improvement, standard work, visual management, 6S, safety, and workplace organization throughout assigned areas.
  • Monitor employee workload, attendance, training, performance, and adherence to company policies; elevate staffing or performance concerns to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality, handling, packaging, shipping, recordkeeping, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other related duties and support supply chain priorities as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise employees, establish daily priorities, and maintain accountability across multiple work areas.
  • Ability to read production schedules, shipping documents, material requirements, part numbers, and inventory records.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify shortages, transaction errors, and material‑flow constraints.
  • Working knowledge of shipping, receiving, warehousing, stockroom controls, inventory accuracy, and material handling.
  • Ability to use ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications to complete transactions, research material status, and prepare reports.
  • Ability to work effectively with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Production Planning, Quality, Customer Service, and other support functions.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Kanban, 6S, standard work, and continuous improvement principles are preferred.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Two or more years of experience in similar logistics, materials, warehouse, shipping and receiving, stockroom, or manufacturing support role with direct reports.
  • Experience supervising employees and coordinating daily work assignments in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Experience using an integrated ERP or inventory-management system preferred.
