SUMMARY:

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the effective management of the organization's supply chain activities, with primary accountability for logistics, inventory control, material availability, supplier performance, and the reliable flow of materials through the operation. This role leads supply chain execution, develops scalable processes, and uses data to improve service, cost, accuracy, and working capital performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the organization's supply chain execution for procurement, material flow, logistics, warehousing, and inventory control.
  • Own inventory accuracy, cycle-count programs, physical inventory activities, location control, and root-cause resolution for inventory variances.
  • Establish and maintain inventory policies for safety stock, reorder points, lot sizing, lead time, excess and obsolete material, and material disposition.
  • Ensure materials are available to support operational requirements while balancing customer commitments, working capital, storage capacity, and supply risk.
  • Direct inbound and outbound logistics, including freight planning, carrier coordination, shipment documentation, delivery performance, and freight-cost control.
  • Develop logistics and warehouse processes that support safe handling, traceability, efficient space utilization, and accurate receiving, storage, picking, and shipment.
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance, including delivery, quality, responsiveness, lead-time reduction, capacity, cost, and risk mitigation.
  • Lead sourcing, purchasing, negotiation, and supplier-development activities in accordance with company requirements and delegated authority.
  • Monitor open purchase orders, shortages, past-due commitments, expedites, and supplier constraints; establish recovery plans and communicate risks promptly.
  • Analyze inventory, purchasing, logistics, and supplier data to identify trends, constraints, cost opportunities, and corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain supply chain KPIs, standard work, controls, and management routines that drive accountability and sustained performance.
  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Customer Service, and Production Planning to resolve material, supplier, inventory, and delivery issues.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Production Planning on demand priorities, customer commitments, schedule changes, and material-risk communication without direct supervision of those departments.
  • Drive Lean, Kaizen, 6S, and continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain, warehouse, logistics, and inventory processes.
  • Support ERP data integrity and disciplined transaction execution for items, suppliers, purchase orders, receipts, inventory movements, and related planning parameters.
  • Develop contingency plans for critical suppliers, transportation disruptions, inventory shortages, and other supply chain risks.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, training, and performance direction to assigned supply chain, logistics, warehouse, and inventory personnel.
  • Prepare and manage applicable budgets, forecasts, projects, and cost-reduction initiatives within the scope of supply chain responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable safety, quality, trade, shipping, recordkeeping, and regulatory requirements.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Operations, Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Five or more years of progressive supply chain, purchasing, logistics, inventory, or materials-management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Two or more years of leadership or supervisory experience are preferred.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, inventory controls, supplier performance management, and freight/logistics coordination required.
