Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' Veterans Health Administration in Spokane is seeking a Materials Handler to manage receiving, storing, selecting, and shipping general and specialized bulk and bin materials and equipment within the Receiving/Distribution area of the Logistics Service.

You will rotate stock, maintain temperature controls when required, prepare shipping documents, and participate in inventory accuracy efforts.

Responsibilities

• Receives, stores and ships bin and bulk supplies, materials and equipment.
• Prepares shipping and inventory documents for manual or automated systems.
• Selects storage locations and rotates stock, checks for outdated materials, maintains safeguards and temperature controls.
• Handles delivery and warehousing of materials including hazardous, flammable and temperature sensitive products.
• Participates in stock inventory and communicates discrepancies.
• Ensures products and shelving have identification numbers.
• Loads and unloads shipments; conducts off-site deliveries under 26,000 pounds.
• Performs other related duties.
