Job description

Join to apply for the Logistics Manager - Hybrid (Atlanta) role at good2grow.

Under the direction of the Director of Transportation and Logistics, the incumbent manages transportation, logistics, and account services. Responsible for strategic planning and establishing and maintaining SOPs based on goals and objectives.

Candidates must reside in or around Atlanta to be considered for this role.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Manage Account Services and Transportation Teams
Order Execution
  • Maintain data integrity related to order receipts
  • Monitor daily activities in order receipts and perform summaries
  • Lead open orders meetings
  • Analyze shipment data and support execution activities
Transportation
  • Create and monitor transportation budgets with the Director of Transportation
  • Maintain data integrity of TMS through tariff updates
  • Develop initiatives for OB and IB freight
  • Analyze freight spend weekly by categories
  • Develop strategies and maintain ocean freight routing guides
  • Conduct annual RFQs for TL, LTL, and ocean freight
3PL Shipping
  • Plan and monitor daily shipping and receiving activities at DCs
  • Manage communications with 3PL providers
  • Coordinate and prioritize shipments from all shipping and receiving sites
  • Develop and monitor shipping procedures
  • Monitor expenses and approve invoices
  • Troubleshoot shipping delays and issues
Inventory
  • Monitor inbound and production transactions, allocate inventory, and report anomalies
  • Reconcile inventory systematically and physically
  • Coordinate delays and short shipments with sales and production teams
Invoice Processing
  • Process freight and 3PL invoices per agreements
  • Perform invoice audits
Continuous Improvement Strategies
  • Identify and develop strategies for order management and transportation improvements
Update Monthly KPIs
  • Summarize transportation, 3PL, and order processing metrics
  • Identify aging inventory for disposition
  • Conduct monthly calls with 3PL providers
3PL Freight and Warehouse
  • Oversee procurement and qualification of freight providers
  • Study OB network to minimize expenses and transit times
  • Monitor OS&D processes to reduce AR deductions
Education and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
  • 5+ years managing teams and transportation providers
  • 5+ years negotiating freight (domestic/international)
  • 10+ years with MS Office applications
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize

Preferred:

  • MBA in Business
  • Experience managing 3PL operations, inventory allocations, distribution, account services, WMS, TMS Mercury Gate, ERP Business Central
