Logistics Manager – Richardson, TX

Summary

Celestica is seeking an analytical and strategic Logistics Manager to optimize all inbound and outbound transportation, freight, and customs compliance for our manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate will have 6-8 years of experience in global logistics and trade compliance, with a focus on high‑value electronics and complex hardware, including systems with specialized requirements like liquid cooling and data center racks. This role is critical for reducing freight costs, ensuring on‑time delivery (OTD), and managing all third‑party logistics (3PL) providers and carriers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Global Freight Management: Oversee and manage all freight operations, including carrier selection, contract negotiation, shipment consolidation, and route optimization to meet customer OTD requirements while minimizing transportation costs.
  • Trade Compliance & Customs: Ensure strict adherence to all domestic and international import/export regulations, customs laws, and trade agreements. Manage broker relationships and maintain necessary documentation for all shipments.
  • 3PL and Carrier Performance: Manage relationships with third‑party logistics providers (3PLs) and freight carriers. Establish and monitor performance metrics (KPIs), conduct regular business reviews, and drive continuous improvement in service reliability and cost‑effectiveness.
  • Cost Analysis & Budgeting: Own and manage the site’s freight budget. Conduct regular cost‑to‑serve analyses to identify opportunities for mode shifts, duty reductions, and overall savings.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to global supply chain disruptions, customs holds, and transportation delays. Develop contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Cross‑Functional Alignment: Work closely with Planning, Warehouse Operations, and Customer Program Management (CPM) to ensure logistics capabilities align with the production schedule and customer delivery expectations.
  • Systems Utilization: Drive the effective utilization of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other logistics software to track shipments, audit invoices, and generate performance reports.
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • 6 to 8 years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation, or global trade compliance, with a minimum of 3 years managing a team or functional area.
  • Direct experience managing global logistics for high‑tech, electronics, or complex system manufacturing (EMS preferred). Familiarity with handling specialized, high‑value freight related to data center infrastructure.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CTL, CSCP) are highly valued.
  • Expert knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS), freight auditing tools, and strong functional understanding of ERP/MRP system integration with logistics modules.
  • In‑depth knowledge of U.S. and international customs regulations, classification, and export control regulations.
  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Work Environment: Primarily a professional office environment, with regular visits to the shipping dock, warehouse, and production areas to audit procedures and manage freight flow.
  • Physical Demands: Requires extensive use of computers for analysis, reporting, and communication. Periodic walking and standing are required for facility oversight.
  • Flexibility: Must be highly responsive and available to manage time‑critical, international logistics issues that may occur outside of standard business hours.
