Desi Fresh Foods is a leading “cultured” dairy manufacturer with 25+ years of experience. We produce high-quality and consistent products, which include yogurt (Dahi or Indian, Greek and traditional), smoothies/yogurt drinks, sour cream, and dips from single serve options to food service sides. We are currently seeking a skilled Logistics Manager to join our team and contribute to the ongoing success of our facility in Frederick County, Virginia!

About The Role

We are looking for a highly motivated individual as the Logistics Manager who will be responsible for leading and executing the transportation, efficient movement, storage, and distribution of raw materials, packaging, and finished food products. This role is mostly partnering with vendors externally and works closely with the Warehouse and Inventory Manager that executes internally. This role ensures timely deliveries, and compliance with food safety regulations, while also supporting supplier and carrier relationships to control costs and improve efficiency.

The ideal candidate has experience managing the logistics of a refrigerated and ambient manufacturing production company, while ensuring efficient and effective transportation operations, contributing to overall business objectives and customer satisfaction while optimizing costs and resources at the site level. This is an onsite role based out of Winchester, VA and will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, select carriers, negotiate shipping rates, and ensure timely and accurate deliveries to customers.
• Analyze logistics data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare reports to improve decision-making.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvement with external vendors and carriers.
• Monitor and report on key transportation performance metrics for the facility, such as lead times and on-time deliveries.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and third‑party logistics providers (3PLs), ensuring cost‑effective and reliable supply chain operations.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, BOLs, and industry regulations, including proper storage, handling, and transportation of food products.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities in logistics management, analyze expenses, and implement efficiency improvements.
• Identify potential transportation disruptions and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks.
• Continuously assess and refine logistics operations to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize workflows.
• Collaborate across departments, including warehouse/inventory, and customer service.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5+ years in logistics, inbound/outbound freight, and carrier coordination within the food production or CPG industry.
• Experience with supply chain systems, tools, technologies and familiarity with FDA, USDA, HACCP, SQF, and GMP compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with production management software (e.g., ERP system like Sage) and standard office applications (e.g., MS Office).
• Must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in records and compliance documentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams and stakeholders.
