Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Logistics Manager in Romulus, MI to oversee all activities for efficient account operation, including P&L responsibility, customer satisfaction, compliance, and safety.

You will lead both salaried and hourly teams, collaborate with management and customers, and drive profitability through KPI analytics and strong operational discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain preferred.
• Three or more years of relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, warehouse or related field.
• Two+ years of managing and leading direct reports.
• Excellent knowledge of transportation and/or warehouse logistics operations (advanced).
• Excellent knowledge of safety and security requirements (advanced).

Responsibilities

• Manage the performance of salaried and hourly employees under responsibility, resolve issues and ensure policy compliance.
• Collaborate with senior management and customers to determine needs and operate the account to meet demands.
• Be responsible for payroll of employees.
• Analyze weekly and monthly P&L to determine profitability and report to senior management.
• Handle accounts payable, vendor quotes, and customer invoicing.
• Lead Safety & Security meetings and provide safety training to ensure regulatory compliance.

Job Description: We are immediately hiring a Logistics Manager in Romulus, MI for our Supply Chain Solutions division. Pay Type: Exempt / Salary paid Twice Per Month. Annual Salary Pay: $70,000 to $75,000. Schedule: Monday - Friday 6am - 3pm. Experience managing a team of hourly employees is a plus; Experience managing labor and an understanding of KPIs is a plus.

Summary

The Logistics Manager is responsible to manage all activities associated with the efficient operation of accounts. This includes P&L responsibility, ensuring customer satisfaction, compliance, employee relations and safety.

Essential Functions

• Manage the performance of salaried employees as well as hourly paid employees under his/her responsibility, resolve performance issues, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with senior management and customers to determine their needs and expectations and operate the account to meet those demands.
• Be responsible for the payroll of employees.
• Analyze weekly and monthly P&L statement to determine account profitability, and provide financial data and weekly operations report to senior management.
• Be responsible for accounts payable, vendor quotes for purchased materials, and customer invoicing.
• Hold Safety & Security meetings, provide safety training and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Must be available to work on a flexible schedule on the various work shifts.

Compensation Information

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and or type.

Compensation ranges for the position are below:

• Pay Type: Salaried
• Minimum Pay Range: $70,000
• Maximum Pay Range: $75,000
