Job summary

Olde Wood Ltd is seeking a Logistic Manager to oversee inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring timely, accurate, and cost-effective shipping, receiving, and documentation.

You will coordinate with warehouse personnel, carriers, and internal teams—sales and customer service—to optimize orders, schedules, and compliance across domestic and international shipments.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Process, package, and schedule shipments with various carriers.
• Create and manage shipping documents (BOLs, packing slips, customs docs).

Logistic Manager manages the logistics of both inbound and outbound materials to ensure that products are shipped, received, and documented in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner. This role serves as a primary point of contact between warehouse personnel, carriers, and internal departments, including sales and customer service.

About the Role

The Logistic Manager is responsible for overseeing the logistics operations, ensuring efficient order fulfillment, and maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Order Fulfillment & Logistics: Process, package, and schedule shipments using various carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTL carriers).
• Documentation: Create and manage essential shipping documents, including Bills of Lading (BOL), packing slips, and customs paperwork for international shipments.
• Tracking & Problem Solving: Monitor shipments in transit, proactively addressing delays, damages, or discrepancies with carriers.
• Communication: Act as the primary contact for shipping carriers, providing updates to customers and internal teams.
• Compliance: Ensure all shipments adhere to safety regulations, hazardous materials protocols, and company policies.
• Cost Management: Negotiate rates with carriers and select the most economical shipping methods. Negotiate freight rates, prospecting for new carriers.
• Manage company truck schedule, maintenance.
• Build relationships with local carriers.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED is generally required; an associate or bachelor's degree in logistics or supply chain management is often preferred.
• Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a shipping, warehouse, or logistics role.

Required Skills

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and familiarity with ERP/Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as SAP or Oracle.
• Soft Skills: Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and, in some cases, operate a forklift or pallet jack.
