Job summary

Firehawk Aerospace, based in Addison, TX, seeks an experienced Logistics Manager to lead shipping, receiving, and material flow in a high-volume production environment. This role starts as a working manager and evolves into senior leadership overseeing logistics across multiple locations.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on startup experience, deep knowledge of hazardous materials regulations, and a proven ability to implement scalable logistics systems in a defense-focused organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of logistics experience with energetics or hazardous materials.
• Knowledge of government contracting and defense logistics systems.
• Proven experience in contract and facility startup operations.
• Strong knowledge of shipping/receiving processes, inventory management systems, and warehouse best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast paced production environment.
• Hands-on management style with the ability to transition into broader leadership as operations scale.
• Excellent communication, team-building, and problem-solving skills.
• Expert knowledge of hazardous materials regulations (49 CFR, IATA DGR, IMDG Code).

Responsibilities

• Lead daily shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations for materials, equipment, energetics, ammunition, and weapon systems.
• Develop efficient processes for inbound/outbound logistics, inventory control, and transportation management company wide.
• Coordinate transportation with government agencies, suppliers, and carriers.
• Manage warehouse operations and hazardous materials storage controls.
• Participate in and oversee contract and facility startup activities, ensuring smooth ramp-ups and long‑term sustainability.
• Implement best practices for safety, accuracy, and throughput in all logistics functions.
• Collaborate closely with production, procurement, safety, and quality teams to ensure continuity in supply chain operations.
• Build and mentor a growing logistics team as the facility scales.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships and negotiate transportation and logistics contracts.
• Use data‑driven approaches to monitor performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, IATA, and DoD explosive safety regulations.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on packaging specifications.
• Troubleshoot logistics and material flow challenges and implement solutions.

ITAR Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Work Environment And Physical Requirements

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require minimal walking, standing for extended amounts of time, climbing, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat.

Security Clearance

May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
