Job summary

Virginia Spaceport Authority Internship Program is seeking a Logistics Support Intern for a 17-week paid internship at Wallops Island, VA. Under supervision, you will compile records related to ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, and equipment.

Responsibilities include stocking, data entry, parts tracking, inspection, inventory audits, and coordinating with the Materials Manager for replenishment.

Qualifications

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Organization and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office or related programs.

Responsibilities

• Supports the logistics aspect of the MARS Inventory Control System, including stocking, database entry, parts and material tracking, and preparing transmittals with appropriate certifications and approvals.
• Receives delivered materials, equipment, and supplies, confirms matches with stock descriptions and quantities, documents arrival condition and paperwork.
• Supports receipt inspection of materials, supplies, spares, and repair parts to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Organizes and manages inventory certificate of conformance for all pad components.
• Evaluates clean part inventory levels and coordinates sending parts to be cleaned when required.
