Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in shipping or transportation coordination preferred or cert.
• Basic knowledge of shipping/transportation operations and import/export processes.
• Willingness to learn transportation management software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with internal/external customers.
• Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities, even with ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare dispatch schedule for drivers and equipment daily to meet on-time service goals.
• Coordinate with carriers to ensure efficient use and effective routing.
• Use dynamic routing to optimize outbound product movements.
• Create inbound/outbound orders in the dispatch system.
• Monitor drivers' hours to prevent violations and balance workload.
• Communicate changes to delivery and backhaul assignments promptly.
• Address issues and recommend solutions to meet customer needs.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities for productivity and service.
