  • Correct and standardize product names, descriptions, categories, attributes, costs, pricing, and other data.
  • Assist with bulk product updates and large-scale data-cleanup projects.
  • Maintain organized records of cleanup projects, corrections, and outstanding data issues.
  • Identify duplicate or potentially duplicate products and resolve or escalate.
  • Document unresolved data issues and raise them to relevant team members.
  • Use NetSuite searches and reports to identify and resolve data-quality issues.
  • Collaborate with buyers, inventory staff, accounting, and eCommerce teams to resolve data discrepancies.
  • Help develop and improve product-data standards, procedures, and checklists.
  • Create and maintain NetSuite saved searches, reports, dashboards, and data extracts.

Job Summary

The University of Utah Campus Store is seeking a Product Data Coordinator who provides administrative and operational support for the Campus Store by maintaining accurate, complete, and consistent product information within NetSuite and other Campus Store systems. The position focuses on product-data maintenance, cleanup, standardization, and quality control to support accurate product, inventory, and operational information.
The Product Data Coordinator reviews and corrects product records, researches data discrepancies, applies established data standards, and maintains required product attributes, classifications, statuses, and vendor information. The position also supports reporting, data extracts, and system-based data-quality activities and works with Campus Store teams to resolve product and inventory data issues.

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and maintain item records in NetSuite and other Campus Store systems, ensuring required attributes, statuses, categories, and vendor relationships are accurate and complete.
  • Correct and standardize product names, descriptions, categories, attributes, vendor information, costs, pricing fields, and other item data according to established standards.
  • Assist with bulk product updates, imports, and large‑scale product and inventory data‑cleanup projects.
  • Maintain organized records of completed cleanup projects, corrections, and outstanding data issues.
  • Identify duplicate or potentially duplicate products and resolve or elevate records according to established procedures.
  • Document unresolved data issues and raise them to the appropriate team members when necessary.
  • Use NetSuite saved searches, reports, spreadsheets, and other tools to identify, investigate, and resolve data‑quality issues, including missing costs, incorrect classifications, incomplete attributes, negative inventory balances, duplicate records, and other data exceptions requiring cleanup or correction.
  • Collaborate with buyers, inventory staff, accounting, eCommerce, and other Campus Store teams to resolve product and inventory data discrepancies.
  • Assist in developing, documenting, and improving product‑data standards, procedures, workflows, and checklists.
  • Create and maintain NetSuite saved searches, reports, dashboards, and data extracts to support operational and business decision‑making.
  • Participate in special product‑data, inventory, and system data‑quality projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT : 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Requires little to no related experience.

Preferences

  • Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Experience maintaining product, item, inventory, or catalog data.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including sorting, filtering, comparing, and organizing data.
  • Familiarity with reporting, data visualization, or business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
  • Experience working with SKUs, UPCs, product categories, vendor information, costs, pricing, or inventory data.
  • Experience working in a retail, bookstore, inventory, eCommerce, or higher education environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work accurately with large volumes of data and follow established procedures.
  • Ability to research discrepancies, document issues, and communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
