Overview

This is a hybrid role. The candidate in this role would be required to work in office 2 days per week at a minimum.

Job Summary The Customer Logistics Coordinator (Logistics Coordinator) is responsible for the daily planning, assignment and management of customer orders via transportation sourcing, supporting the overall strategy of identifying opportunities within the logistics department.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for performing load planning activities by applying logistics skills through routing and selecting the best possible carrier, mode, and transportation strategy to meet service and transportation cost expectations (cost, highest service).
  • Manage day-to-day activities, track and trace loads, communicate load changes and issues, maintain load visibility (end to end) from origin to destination and assist with issue resolution and communication.
  • Assist carriers in resolving issues regarding loading, pickup appointments and communicating to appropriate parties as necessary.
  • Take part in account and customer related programs and special projects to drive efficiency and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Awareness of and ability to identify optimal freight solutions to achieve and surpass desired results, in driving transportation metrics such as Cost Per Pallet (CPP), Order Tender Leadtime, On-Time Performance, Customer Trailer Pool and saving initiatives.
  • Responsible for achievement of period, quarterly and annual transportation goals by planning the transportation using the most cost-effective methods.
  • Required to be highly analytical to generate daily / weekly / period reports as required from the TMS, Portal and any other iGPS systems to facilitate cost, performance based continuous improvement.
  • Consult with iGPS Supply Chain Leaders, Team members and Customer stakeholders to identify, define, and document business needs and objectives, current reporting capabilities, and challenges related to the business functions.
  • Manage and report on relevant KPIs.
  • Find timely, efficient, and cost-effective ways to source and distribute orders.
  • Analyze cost efficiency of existing lanes / routing guides and load configurations on an ongoing basis, implementing efficiencies where appropriate.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation of procedures and processes (SOPs).
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of supply chain, logistics, dispatching, load planning, or work in the transportation industry required. Prior experience working in a fast-paced logistics environment is highly preferred.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, logistics or supply chain preferred.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational skills, and customer focused.
  • Must be able to interpret data into meaningful solutions.
  • Demonstrate a keen attention to detail, be able to communicate across cross-functional teams and be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook), Access & TMS system.
  • Must have knowledge of BOLs / PODs and utilizing them to confirm delivery.
  • Must be results-oriented, self-directed, be able to problem solve, have excellent time management skills, possess strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate with senior management leadership in the transportation industry in a professional manner.
  • Strong people skills, strong verbal / written communication skills, including being able to independently compose various communications. Must understand and comprehend English documents.
