Job summary

Nucor is seeking a Shipping & Logistics Coordinator to enforce safety policies, coordinate shipping, and communicate with customers and sales teams. The role supports planning, forecasting, and problem resolution in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Notify customers when orders are completed to confirm/arrange shipment.
• Notify Sales and customers of late orders and backorder shipments.
• Coordinate with carriers and schedule pickups.
• Provide freight rates and cubing to customers.
• Oversee the daily shipping calendar and forecast shipments.
• Maintain open lines of communication between sales and customers.
• Assist in planning large projects and resolving shipping issues.

Basic Job Functions:

• Enforces all company safety policies and procedures.
• Notify customers when orders are completed to confirm/arrange shipment.
• Notify Sales and customers of late orders and backorder shipments.
• Notify the Shipping department of all orders ready to ship and have the order staged, loaded, and shipped on the customer ship date.
• Contact carriers/customers to schedule a pick-up.
• Provide freight rates and cubing to customers.
• Oversee the creation and execution of the daily shipping calendar.
• Assist in planning and coordinating large projects.
• Assist in resolving any issues assigned regarding bills of lading, freight disputes, and credits.
• Assist in creating the monthly and mid-month shipment forecasts (dollars and tons).
• Keep open lines of communication between the sales department and customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent.
• 2-4 years of experience in a previous Shipping and Logistics Coordinator role.
• Fluent in written and verbal English and Spanish-bilingual.
• Ability to operate a computer, calculator, copy machine, telephone, and other office equipment with skill safely and efficiently.
• Able to work Monday – Friday, with potential Saturday work; and overtime as needed.
• Experience with ERP systems (i.e. D365 or comparable system).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working for a manufacturing company preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, with excellent follow‑up.
