Job summary

Meridian Adhesives Group in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to manage outbound shipments from documentation to carrier pickup, ensuring accuracy of BOLs, packing lists, and COAs, and coordinating with Customer Service, Production, Warehouse, Planning, and carriers. You will track shipments, resolve exceptions, allocate inventory by lot, and update ERP/TMS systems.

2–3 years experience in manufacturing logistics, familiarity with carrier portals, BOLs, and inventory control,

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of logistics, shipping, transportation, or related experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Experience preparing and processing BOLs, packing lists, shipping documentation, and related transportation records.
  • Experience using carrier portals and coordinating carrier pickups.
  • Experience with inventory and lot allocation.
  • Experience working with ERP and/or transportation management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process outgoing shipments and ensure all required shipping documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Prepare bills of lading (BOLs), packing lists, shipping labels, and customs documentation.
  • Complete customer-specific shipping requirements, including COAs, ASNs, shipment seal requirements, and other required documentation.
  • Schedule carrier pickups using online carrier portals, telephone, and email.
  • Physically verify shipments prior to release to confirm that shipping documentation matches the actual freight.
  • Attach packing lists to shipments and assist drivers in locating the correct freight for pickup.
  • Allocate inventory by lot number and verify that the correct lots are assigned to each shipment.
  • Compare pick lists to actual freight and support shipment accuracy, including selection of the oldest applicable lot number.
  • Provide logistics and shipping support to Customer Service as needed.
  • Track outbound shipments through delivery and address missed pickups, delays, and other shipment exceptions.
  • Communicate shipment status and exceptions to appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
  • Enter and update shipment information, tracking numbers, freight details, and related records in ERP, TMS, and other transportation systems.
  • Investigate and resolve freight issues, including shortages, damages, OS&D discrepancies, missing proofs of delivery (PODs), billing discrepancies, and freight claims.

Job Summary

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating outbound shipments from documentation through carrier pickup and delivery while ensuring shipment documentation, paperwork, inventory lot allocation, and customer-specific requirements are accurate and complete. This position works closely with Customer Service, Production, Warehouse, Planning, carriers, and customers to ensure timely and accurate shipment execution and resolution of transportation-related issues.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process outgoing shipments and ensure all required shipping documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Prepare bills of lading (BOLs), packing lists, shipping labels, and customs documentation.
  • Complete customer-specific shipping requirements, including Certificates of Analysis (COAs), Advance Shipping Notices (ASNs), shipment seal requirements, and other required documentation.
  • Schedule carrier pickups using online carrier portals, telephone, and email.
  • Physically verify shipments prior to release to confirm that shipping documentation matches the actual freight.
  • Attach packing lists to shipments and assist drivers in locating the correct freight for pickup.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in shipment documentation and inventory records.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with internal departments, carriers, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of delivered, prepaid & charge, and shipping‑point freight terms.
  • Working knowledge of bills of lading, freight classes, LTL, and truckload shipments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, carrier portals, and transportation or shipping systems.
  • Experience with a Transportation Management System (TMS) preferred.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and follow established procedures and customer‑specific requirements.

Education & Experience

  • 2–3 years of logistics, shipping, transportation, or related experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Experience preparing and processing BOLs, packing lists, shipping documentation, and related transportation records.
  • Experience using carrier portals and coordinating carrier pickups.
  • Experience with inventory and lot allocation.
  • Experience working with ERP and/or transportation management systems preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly move throughout warehouse, shipping, and office areas to verify outbound shipments.
  • Ability to visually inspect freight, labels, documentation, and shipping materials for accuracy.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull materials or shipping documents as required by the position.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and sit for extended periods as required.
  • Ability to work safely in and around warehouse and shipping areas.

COMPENSATION & BENEIFITS

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 1 st Shift 7:00 am-4:00 pm Monday - Friday

Pay: This position has a salary range of $24.23-$26.92. The above range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic location

Bonus Pay: Meridian offers an incentive plan for 2025 focused on safety, quality, and financial metrics. Eligible employees have the opportunity to earn up to $1,520 a year, with earned payments distributed quarterly throughout the year.
