Overview

The Logistics Clerk may perform duties related to Receiving, Shipping, Inventory Control, and Kitting, as well as assist in training coworkers on these tasks. Cross-training within the department is highly encouraged.

Responsibilities
  • Receiving duties: Manage Receiving Hold and Inspection with Purchasing and Customer Service; keep the receiving area clean and organized at all times; unload / inspect incoming freight for damage and route items to the appropriate department for further inspection; report any damages, shortages or overages in shipments; maintain records of each incoming shipment including type and date; coordinate with Purchasing on purchase orders and coordinate with Quality and Customer Support representatives on Customers LRU\'s; work with others in the department to ensure efficiency; follow pre-established guidelines and report to supervisor/manager; operate forklift or hand truck when applicable.
  • Shipping duties: Ensure all parts or units are shipped out the same day to the proper location; check paperwork from Quality to ensure it matches the parts shipped; ensure proper packaging and handling; identify restrictions for Department of Transportation (DOT) and ship hazardous materials appropriately; schedule shipment pickups and arrange transport to the loading platform; maintain records of each shipment including type and date; establish shipping rates and any other charges; ensure international shipments have the appropriate customs paperwork; respond to customer inquiries about shipment status; follow guidelines and report to supervisor/manager.
  • Inventory Control duties: Perform cycle counts to ensure accuracy; transfer bins between storage locations; troubleshoot missing units and reconcile incorrect repair orders; pull stock for exchanges; assist in shelf life management of all LRU parts; reprint labels for incorrect/damaged labels; reconfigure warehouse to optimize space per management instruction.
Qualifications
  • Kitting duties: locate stock and deliver items upon request; ensure incoming deliveries are accurate and stock the supply room; verify documentation for accuracy and on-time delivery; kit parts from repair orders and deliver to production; pick orders for production lines using computer-generated pick lists; count, sort, and prioritize incoming articles to verify receipt; maintain inventory integrity, locations, neatness, and quantities; verify conformance to specifications; escalate issues in storage locations as needed; execute assigned kitting list daily to 100 percent completion.
  • Required Competencies / Education & Experience:
    • High school diploma or GED
    • At least 1 year of experience in a stock room in a manufacturing environment
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
    • This position requires ITAR compliance. All applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR.
    • No relocation is provided. Only candidates within a 50 mile radius will be considered.

Additional information
  • Physical Demands: Regularly stationary; occasional moving; capable of using a computer; ability to exchange accurate information; occasional lifting up to 10 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Office and laboratory setting; office typically quiet; laboratory may require hearing protection.
  • Experience in relevant business sector: aerospace industry experience is a plus but not required.
