Job summary

The Gift Shop Logistics Associate at Atlanta Botanical Garden supports the efficient flow, organization, and accuracy of merchandise across storage areas, warehouse, and sales floor operations. Working with the Logistics Lead and Managers, you will receive and process shipments, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure items are tagged and stocked.

You may also assist on the sales floor and perform as a Gift Shop Sales Associate when needed, while complying with all safety, recycling, and labor

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of customer service or equivalent experience preferred.
  • One year of retail experience preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Manage organization of merchandise in storage units, warehouse, and stockroom.
  • Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
  • Coordinate placement of shipments from truck deliveries.
  • Communicate accurately with Managers and Leads.
  • Report missing or damaged items to vendors and management.
  • Ensure Purchase Orders are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, secured, and coded.
  • Maintain cleanliness and recovery standards in storage areas.
  • Work with Managers to ensure flow of goods to the sales floor.
  • Enter merchandise into the POS system accurately.
  • Comply with recycling and hazardous waste programs where applicable.
  • Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Support inventory shrink reduction goals.
  • Contribute to a risk-free environment.
  • Perform as Gift Shop Sales Associate when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the organization of merchandise in storage units, warehouse, and stockroom
  • Organize and rotate back stock in the storage unit, warehouse, and stockroom for easy replenishment
  • Coordinate placement of shipments from truck deliveries
  • Communicate accurately and effectively with the Managers and Leads
  • Report to vendors and management of any missing or damaged items in shipments
  • Ensure Purchase Orders are completed efficiently and accurately in a timely manner
  • Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, secured, and coded per company guidelines
  • Maintain all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the storage units, warehouse, and stockroom
  • Works closely with the Managers and Leads to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor
  • Responsible for accurately entering merchandise into the POS system
  • Ensures compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs
  • Ensures adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
  • Supports and participates in inventory shrink reduction goals and programs
  • Supports maintenance of a risk-free environment
  • Perform as Gift Shop Sales Associate when needed

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of customer service or equivalent experience preferred
  • One year of retail experience
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs, including nights and weekends
  • Superior organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to respond appropriately to unexpected situations or changes in deliveries or merchandising plans
  • Team player, working effectively with peers and supervisors to accomplish tasks
  • Capable of regularly lifting 20lbs-40lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Strong, precise communication skills
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
