WellSpan Health's York Hospital Linen/Laundry Department is seeking a full-time courier/warehouse associate for the 1st shift (5:00am-1:30pm) with rotating weekends and holidays. Starting pay is $18.00+ for experience, with a team-focused environment centered on accuracy and service within the hospital system.

You will perform laundry pickups/deliveries, maintain inventories, prepare items for shipment, and support timely distribution to departments while following procedures and safety

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Less than 1 year relevant experience required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Completes laundry pick up and/or deliveries from off campus sites to the laundry.
  • Maintains vehicle and reports needed maintenance or repairs.
  • Prioritizes workload and organizes loads at the beginning of shift.
  • Attends in-services and training; assists in onboarding new couriers.
  • Receives requests, selects inventory, loads distribution vehicles, and distributes items.

York Hospital Linen/Laundry Department

Full Time

Hours: 1st shift; 5:00am-1:30pm

Starting pay rate: $18.00+ for experience

General Summary

Performs a variety of tasks to support the system-wide mission of Logistics and Distribution including, but not limited to, issuing supplies, maintaining inventories and compiling stock records, receiving, preparing items for shipment and/or return to vendor, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions
  • Completes laundry pick up and/or deliveries from off campus sites, clients, etc. to the laundry.
  • Completes a daily log.
  • Maintains vehicle, reporting the need for truck maintenance or repairs.
  • Prioritizes workload and organizes loads at beginning of shift.
  • Attends departmental/hospital in-services and education programs as needed without being constantly reminded.
  • Pleasantly participates in orientation and training of new courier employees. Makes them feel welcome and part of the team
  • Willingly helps all co-workers to ensure that all pick up and deliveries are completed in a timely manner.
  • Communicates to Laundry staff when dropping off and picking up linen.
  • Moves/handles items such as, supplies, linen, mail, print products, equipment, etc..
  • Performs a variety of activities such as, receiving, storing, cleaning, issuing, counting, shipping and ordering of supplies and equipment. Complies with US Postal Service Regulations.
  • Works to meet customer expectations - right stuff, right place, right time, right condition, right quantity, right price.
  • Works in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Supports the capture and reporting of Key Performance Indicators/Measures that drive Continuous Improvement.
  • Works with managers, supervisors, technicians, warehouses, mail services, print providers, couriers.
  • Stocks vendor deliveries in designated areas.
  • Receives requests for items, selects from inventory, loads distribution vehicles and distributes to designated areas.
  • Delivers items to requisitioning departments and obtains authorized signatures for accepted items.
  • Inventories user storage areas and replenishes inventory or par levels.
  • Prepares routine inventory reports and maintains records of in-house and on-order supplies.
  • Supports periodic and special inventories. Participates in year-end inventories in cooperation with the Controller.
  • Investigates discrepancies and reconciles. Monitors expiration dates. Processes inventory returns.
