Why This Role Exists

The work we do has real impact, and the people behind it matter just as much.

D&G is seeking a Logistics Analyst SME to provide the operational expertise that grounds D&G's logistics modeling and simulation in real-world mission requirements, processes, constraints, and decision needs. This position works across government stakeholders and technical teams to frame logistics use cases, validate source data and assumptions, define operational scenarios, and assess whether model behavior and outputs accurately reflect mission conditions.

The role translates analytical findings into operational implications, capability gaps, and actionable recommendations, ensuring technical results are credible, relevant, and useful to Federal Government decision-makers.

What You Will Do
  • Translate government mission objectives, concepts, and questions into analytical use cases.
  • Define relevant processes, decisions, and other factors for modeling and simulation.
  • Ensure airlift cargo and UAS cargo scenarios reflect credible operational employment, with a specific focus on heavy airlift cargo and Unmanned Aerial Systems cargo use cases.
  • Review logistics, platform, infrastructure, and performance data for operational accuracy.
  • Validate models against DOTMLPF-P elements, operational practice, and subject-matter expertise.
  • Assist with the design of trade-space, sensitivity, vulnerability, and stress-testing scenarios.
  • Evaluate model outputs for operational validity.
  • Assess where alternative logistics concepts create or diminish operational advantage.
  • Translate technical model results into clear, actionable insights.
  • Support stakeholder workshops, working sessions, briefings, and reviews.
  • Contribute operational content to briefings, reports, visualizations, and final deliverables.
What We Are Looking For

  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise with deep, experience-based knowledge of aircraft load planning, unmanned aerial systems, operational energy, and/or common support equipment.
  • Direct experience with DoD mobility, airlift, distribution, cargo movement, contested logistics, or UAS-enabled logistics operations.
  • Deep understanding of operational logistics concepts, constraints, planning factors, performance measures, and mission-level trade-offs.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing logistics data, operational processes, capability gaps, and alternative courses of action.
  • Experience working with analytical, modeling and simulation, or decision-support teams to validate assumptions and interpret technical findings.
  • Ability to work independently under high-pressure conditions with limited training and supervision.
Preferred
  • Experience supporting Federal Government logistics studies, operational analysis, experimentation, wargaming, or modeling and simulation efforts.
  • Experience facilitating government stakeholder working sessions and translating SME input into analytical requirements or model parameters.
