Job summary

MW Logistics, LLC in Dallas, TX seeks an Account Manager, Yard Management to oversee yard operations for multiple client sites nationwide. You will be the primary contact, driving performance, reporting, and relationship management with on-site teams.

You will travel up to 50% of the time, manage budgets and P&L, and implement SOPs to improve efficiency across yards. Strong Excel and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience managing operational budgets or P&L and reporting on financial performance.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups) and proficiency with Outlook and Word.
• 5+ years in yard, warehouse, transportation, or logistics operations with client-facing/account management experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for presenting results to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and on-site operations teams, ensuring sites run smoothly daily.
• Manage customer relationships through daily updates, performance reporting, and reviews.
• Monitor and direct site operations remotely using YMS tools (Nexus Yard Management System, YardView, Vector).
• Own the financial performance of each site, including budget tracking and cost per move.
• Track key metrics like fleet utilization, driver hours, yard moves, and cost per move.
• Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs across sites.
• Visit sites regularly for performance reviews and new site launches.
• Lead special projects to improve efficiency and site performance.

MW Logistics is a fast-growing integrated transportation solutions provider offering Brokerage, Dedicated Operations, and Yard Management services. MWL is the fourth largest Electric yard jockeys in the United States creating a unique point of difference for the customers served.

About the Role

Based at our Dallas corporate office, the Account Manager, Yard Management is responsible for the performance of yard management operations at customer sites across the United States. You will be the primary point of contact for customers, providing direction to the on-site teams while owning the operational and financial results for each site managed. About a third of your time will be spent traveling to those sites for performance visits, business reviews, and new site launches.

What You Will Do

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and on-site operations teams, making sure each site runs smoothly day to day.
• Manage customer relationships through daily operational updates, weekly and monthly performance reporting, and strategic business reviews.
• Monitor and direct site operations remotely using Nexus Yard Management System, YardView and Vector.
• Own the financial performance of each site, including budget tracking, cost per move, and financial reporting.
• Track key operational metrics, including fleet utilization, driver hours, yard moves, and cost per move.
• Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) across sites.
• Visit sites regularly to review performance, support new site launches, and build relationships with customer and site leadership.
• Lead special projects that improve operational efficiency and site performance.

What You Will Bring

• 5+ years of experience in yard, warehouse, transportation, or logistics operations, including at least 2 years in a client-facing or account management role.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience managing operational budgets or P&L and reporting on financial performance.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, building reports) and proficiency with Outlook and Word.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn operational data into clear recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including presenting results to customer leadership.
• Ability to manage multiple sites and shifting priorities in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
• Ability to travel 50%, including overnight trips.

Nice to Have

• Experience with yard management systems (YMS) such as Nexus YMS and YardView.
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations, including hours-of-service rules.
• Experience with yard jockey/hostler operations and trailer and dock management.
• Experience launching new customer sites or managing multi-site operations remotely.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range: $65-75K plus bonus.

Schedule, Location, and Travel

Location: 12770 Coit Rd, Dallas, TX 75251 (in office)

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm, with a one-hour lunch.

Reports to: Director of Sales, Yard Management

Travel:50%, primarily to customer sites across the U.S.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This role is primarily office-based, with extended periods of sitting and computer work and occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds. During site visits, you will walk and stand in active outdoor yard environments with moving trucks and equipment, be exposed to weather conditions, and wear required safety gear (PPE).
