Millennium is seeking a Logistician to work onsite in Charleston, SC. The candidate must have an active secret clearance.
The Logistician is responsible for supporting material management, inventory control, shipping and receiving, and the movement and accountability of equipment and materials. The position will also provide logistical and technical support to engineering and test activities, including interpreting drawings, coordinating materials for fabrication, and supporting equipment testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the receipt, storage, tracking, issuance, and movement of materials, equipment, and inventory between locations.
- Perform inventory counts, maintain accurate inventory records, and ensure materials are properly accounted for and available when needed.
- Review and update inventory and logistics information in systems such as GCSS-MC, CMPro, and other applicable databases.
- Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, including documentation, material tracking, and transportation between locations.
- Support engineering and test activities by interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and plans and assisting with the preparation and fabrication of test specimens.
- Provide technical support for equipment testing and help ensure processes and equipment operate effectively and safely.
- Assist with the preparation and review of shop drawings and other technical documentation; familiarity with CAD and computer-aided drafting is preferred.
- Apply knowledge of materials, specifications, and fabrication methods to support engineering and logistics activities.
- Use Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, to maintain records, track inventory, analyze data, and prepare reports.
- Maintain clear and proactive communication with leadership and project stakeholders regarding inventory status, material requirements, logistics issues, and project needs.
- Support compliance with applicable quality, safety, and operational requirements.
Qualifications
- Active Secret Level Clearance.
- High School diploma/GED, related military experience, or trade/industrial school graduate and a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Experience in logistics, material management, inventory control, or a related technical field.
- Experience with shipping, receiving, material movement, and inventory tracking.
- Experience using inventory or logistics management systems; familiarity with GCSS-MC or CMPro is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and material specifications.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, logistics, and project teams.
