Job summary

SmartLam Technologies Group is seeking a Logistics Manager responsible for shipping across SmartLam North America. You will select carriers, research shipping methods, and assess budgets to manage truck and rail transport company-wide.

The role requires implementing policies to ensure consistency, collaborating with Plant Managers and Project Managers, and traveling to plants to maintain proficiency and uniform practices throughout the company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field.
• 2–4 years related experience in Truck Dispatching/Scheduling.
• Full understanding of DOT regulations.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and maintains processes to reduce costs and increase customer service.
• Coordinates activities of departments to deliver efficient material movement to drive costs/inventory investment down while improving accuracy and response time to customers.
• Supports plant business units’ goals of safety, quality, productivity, and customer service.
• Works closely with Plant Manager and Project Managers to ensure timely deliveries match customer’s needs.
• Reviews, analyzes, modifies, and implements efficient and effective department processes, policies, and procedures.
• Prepare all required reports and correspondence.
• Develops, implements, and monitors department budget; manages expenses within approved budget constraints.
• Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
• Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUMMARY:

The Logistic Manager is responsible for Shipping for SmartLam North America, duties include selecting carriers, researching shipping methods, and assessing budgets. Actively manages the overall Logistic for truck and rail transport for all of SmartLam. Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure consistency throughout the Company. The person in this position will occasionally travel to all SmartLam’s plants to ensure proficiency and consistency throughout the company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in related field or equivalent
• Two to four years related experience or equivalent related to Truck Dispatching/ Scheduling.
• Full understanding of DOT regulations
