Job summary

Mendocino Forest Products in Scotia, CA is seeking a Log Truck Driver to safely transport logs to company locations. The role pays an hourly rate of $31.01 and includes full benefits such as medical, dental, vision, 401K match and company paid life insurance.

The driver will work across Mendocino and Humboldt counties, adhere to DOT and safety rules, and keep thorough logs and bills of lading. The position travels within state borders most of the time.

Qualifications

• This position requires a Class A CDL, active DOT physical, and a clean DMV record.
• Log hauling experience is highly preferred.
• Ability to read and understand safety rules, work instructions, procedures, and basic written communications, and use good judgment to complete assigned tasks.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to utilize an on-board computer.

Responsibilities

• Drives truck and trailer to haul logs from logging sites to log deck or mill.
• Ensures load is properly secured and weight is evenly distributed on truck and trailer.
• Inspects tractor, trailer and equipment for defects and safe operating condition before and after trips.
• Maintains records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations.
