Westervelt Lumber in Moundville, AL is seeking a Log Handling Operator to support sawmill production. You will operate the merchandiser safely, keep the infeed deck stocked, and perform routine maintenance to keep lines moving.

• Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, saw changes, and guide adjustments.
• Calibrating saw modules and monitoring equipment for operational issues.
• Completing daily clean-up in your work area.
• Following lockout procedures and adhering to all safety standards.
• Operate log merchandiser equipment safely and productively.
• Understand operational functions of all equipment in the area.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibrations as needed.
• Identify and communicate operational problems clearly for correction.
• Calculate numbers for manual sets and log lengths.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures.

Day in the Life

As a Log Handling Operator, you’ll play a critical role in the sawmill production process. Your day will include:

• Operating the merchandiser safely and efficiently.
