Job summary

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. seeks a drafting/shipbuilding support professional to join the Lofting team in Panama City, FL.

The role will involve lofting, nesting, and template preparation, coordinating with Engineering and Production to aid fabrication, and using 3D models to clarify build strategies. Qualified candidates have an Associate degree in Drafting or Engineering Technology, 0–2 years in technical drafting or shipbuilding, and basic CAD knowledge (AutoCAD/Rhino).

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in technical drafting or shipbuilding support.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, Rhino, or similar CAD software.
• Detail-oriented with an eagerness to learn ship construction practices.
• Good organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform lofting, nesting, and template preparation as required by project level.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Production teams to support fabrication processes.
• Support plate and structure planning for hull and outfitting items.
• Address drawing clarifications and part location requirements.
• Use 3D models to support production clarity and build strategy alignment.
• Perform other duties as required.
