Job summary

Apache Casino Hotel in Lawton, OK seeks a full-time bartender to mix and serve beverages, manage POS transactions, and deliver exceptional guest service while upholding safety and sanitation standards.

You will follow all operating procedures, maintain a neat appearance, work flexible shifts, and obtain required licenses, including Oklahoma ABLE and Food Handler permits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of full-service bartender experience with guest relations and POS usage.
  • Knowledge of POS and liquor dispensing systems; cash handling experience.
  • Experience with food and beverage sanitation, policies and protocols.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interpret instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and procedures.
  • Accept payment via cash, credit cards, or vouchers for restaurant items.
  • Maintain bar appearance in a clean, functional manner.

Essential Functions
  • Portray a positive attitude under all circumstances, understand and represent the core values of Apache Casino Hotel and live the mission of always providing exceptional service, demonstrating an upbeat and outgoing demeanor while on duty
  • Responsible for mixing and serving alcoholic and/or non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and procedures
  • Accept cash, credit cards, or complimentary vouchers for payment of restaurant items
  • Ensure appearance of bar is maintained in a clean and functional manner
  • Notify appropriate team members when assistance is needed
  • Work effectively in a congenial manner with peers, team members, and regulatory agency personnel
  • Follow all operating procedures, safety and sanitation regulations and departmental procedures
  • Performs other related duties as may be assigned by reporting supervisor, including cross training

Understand and comply with the Eye, Hi, Goodbye program.

Regular attendance is required.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality/casino industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to meet the business needs of Apache Casino Hotel. We are busiest during weekends and holidays, events, and peak seasons as they occur. There is a reasonable expectation you will be scheduled on duty and/or “on-call” during any of these times.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential job functions.

While performing job duties the team member stands for prolonged periods in enclosed spaces, and uses hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The team member is occasionally required to walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The team member will be exposed to various foods and chemicals as well as latex. While performing job duties the team member is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel between buildings and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands. The team member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second-hand environmental smoke. The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate, and there are fluctuations in lighting due to flashing lights from slot machines and band lighting.

At a minimum, the selected candidate will be required to pass a background check and drug-screening test and obtain a gaming license. Upon hire the candidate is also required to obtain an Oklahoma ABLE permit and local Food Handler’s permit.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year experience as a full-service bartender with proven outstanding guest relations, using point of sale and liquor dispensing systems
  • Knowledge, skill, and ability to work with personal computers and credit card systems, with skills needed to safely prepare and serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with internal policies and external regulations and/or laws. Experience with players club card systems preferred
  • Experienced in food and beverage sanitation, cash control policies, practices, and protocols
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to obtain on Oklahoma ABLE license
