Project Background

The Client Technology Business Management Division (TBMD) requires services from one contractor to provide analytical and programming support to develop, maintain, and execute Enterprise Data Reporting services. This includes maintaining and enhancing the Client's reporting system, Business Intelligence (BI) system, and other enterprise reporting systems as needed. The consultant will develop reports, framework packages, repository metamodels, and enhance reporting solutions to meet evolving business needs.

Project Scope & Tasks

1. Design, develop, and deliver reports and dashboards supporting myCalPERS application users. Meet with customers, gather requirements, perform business analysis, create report specifications, develop SQL reports, design and develop reports in Cognos and Power BI. Integrate external applications to trigger/run reports, and integrate Cognos with batch processes using SDK. Provide technical documentation, testing, security, and packaging of reports and dashboards.
2. Maintain, support, and administer Production Reporting systems. Maintain existing packages, optimize performance, tune reports, and build new packages as needed. Develop data extracts, update documentation, and implement reporting solutions. Provide functional administration services in production and non-production environments, maintain security, and ensure data integrity and security.
3. Knowledge transfer to Client staff. Document all work products, status reports, incident resolutions, meeting minutes, test cases, and outcomes. Ensure knowledge sharing throughout the contract duration.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience developing reports and resolving issues using BI & Analytics tools such as Cognos & Power BI.
• At least 5 years of experience with PL/SQL, SQL, and JavaScript for report development.
• At least 5 years of experience in Cognos or Power BI functional administration.
• At least 3 years of experience in report meta modeling, including data security, hierarchies, and data dictionaries.
• At least 5 years of experience in areas such as Pension, Health Insurance, Customer Service, Finance, or Risk.
