Lodge Housekeeping Supervisor

Position Overview

This position serves as the head housekeeper, responsible for managing general housekeeping duties such as cleaning lodge rooms, public areas, and restrooms. Key responsibilities include supervising 5 to 10 seasonal employees and 1 full-time employee, maintaining cleaning and linen supplies, conducting inspections, and performing light maintenance duties. Applicants must possess a valid Arkansas driver’s license and be able to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

Summary

The Lodge Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the cleanliness and appearance of public lodge areas, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and policies. Responsibilities include supervising staff, inspecting facilities, managing inventories, and collaborating with staff to deliver prompt service to guests.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Supervise skilled and unskilled staff by assigning and reviewing work.
  2. Inspect lodge facilities for maintenance needs and cleanliness.
  3. Conduct inventory of equipment, linens, supplies, and materials.
  4. Research and recommend specifications for custodial supplies and equipment.
  5. Maintain records on inventory, work schedules, and maintenance issues.
  6. Prepare reports for supervisors.
  7. Greet visitors, assist the public, and support staff in providing excellent service.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Understanding of supervisory practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of lodge amenities, facilities, and materials.
  • Basic principles of facility maintenance.
  • Ability to train staff in various facility management tasks.
  • Ability to follow instructions and prepare reports.
  • Skill in inspecting facilities and determining maintenance needs.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, plus two years of experience in housekeeping or related fields, including one year of supervisory experience. Additional qualifications may be reviewed and approved by the agency and the Office of Personnel Management. Other relevant education or experience may substitute for basic requirements upon approval.
