Job description

We are seeking an experienced Locums Trauma Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide night shift coverage at a busy Level II Trauma Center in Redding, California. This role is ideal for an APP comfortable working autonomously in high-acuity trauma and emergency situations.

Position Details

• Shift Type: Nights
• Setting: Level II Trauma Center
• EMR: Cerner Care B

Duties & Scope of Practice

• Provide care for trauma and surgical patients in inpatient and emergency settings.
• Perform required low-to-high risk procedures:
• Low/Moderate Risk Procedures: Laceration repair, IV access/insertion (peripheral line), Fracture and dislocation reductions (minimal/moderate displacement)
• High Risk Procedures: Gastrostomy tube placement, Endotracheal intubation, Cardioversion/defibrillation, Laryngeal mask airway (LMA) placement, Paracentesis, Chest tube placement, Central and arterial line placement

Requirements

• Certification: NCCPA (PA) or ANCC (NP) Certified
• Licensure: Active California License
• Certifications Required: ACLS, ATLS, DEA
