Job summary

Northeast Healthcare Recruitment, Inc. (NEHCR) is seeking a Locums Trauma & Acute Care Surgery Physician to provide ongoing coverage at a Level II trauma center in Amarillo, Texas.

The assignment offers shift-based coverage within a collaborative multidisciplinary team and a high-volume surgical caseload. The ideal candidate will be board certified or eligible in General Surgery with trauma surgery/ACS fellowship training and an active Texas license (ATLS certification preferred).

Qualifications

• Board certified or eligible in General Surgery.
• Fellowship training in Trauma Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, or Acute Care Surgery.
• Active Texas medical license or ability to obtain licensure.
• Current ATLS certification.
• Trauma and acute care surgery experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage trauma and emergency general surgery patients.
• Perform operative and non-operative management of traumatic injuries.
• Provide acute care surgery consultations and procedures.
• Participate in intra-trauma activations and multidisciplinary patient care.
• Collaborate with emergency medicine physicians, intensivists, hospitalists, and surgical staff.
• Document patient encounters accurately using the facility's electronic medical record.

A Level II Trauma Center in Amarillo Texas is seeking a LocumsTrauma & Acute Care Surgery Physician to provide ongoing coverage in ahigh-volume, well-supported surgical program. This is an excellent opportunityto work in a collaborative environment with a diverse trauma and acute caresurgery caseload.

Position Highlights

• Facility:495-bed acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center
• Ongoing locumopportunity
• Shift-basedcoverage in a collaborative multidisciplinary practice

Practice Details

The program provides comprehensive trauma and acute care surgeryservices with annual volumes including:

• Approximately1,618 trauma activations
• Over 1,000trauma admissions
• Nearly 500 acutecare surgery operative cases annually

Coverage includes:

• In-house traumacoverage
• Acute CareSurgery (ACS) coverage
• Backup callcoverage as scheduled
• 24Hour shiftsincluding call
• 30-minutecallback response time when on backup call
