Job description

We are seeking a Locums Medical Oncologist to assist in launching a new Medical Oncology practice in Peoria, Illinois. This is an excellent opportunity to help build a comprehensive oncology program with strong APP support and a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

Position Details:
  1. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 12-hour day shifts (7:30 AM start)
  2. Weekends: No weekend coverage required
  3. Support: On-site APP support; PRN Medical Oncologist on-site one week per month
  4. Licensure: IMLC accepted
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide direct patient care including consultations, admissions, and follow-up care
  2. Conduct hospital rounding as needed
  3. Collaborate closely with the APP for consults, follow-ups, and patient management
  4. Coordinate care with the multidisciplinary cancer team
  5. Provide coverage when the PRN Medical Oncologist is not on-site
Required Qualifications:
  1. Active Illinois medical license or IMLC
  2. ACLS and CSR certifications required
  3. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology
