Job description

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) with a background in hematology oncology to provide locum tenens coverage in Torrington, Connecticut. This is an excellent outpatient opportunity with a stable weekday schedule and no call or weekend requirements.

Position Details:

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
  • No call, no weekends, no holidays
  • Setting: Outpatient hematology oncology clinic
  • Patient Population: Hematology (benign and malignant) and oncology patients

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and manage patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions
  • Independently manage patients with benign hematology (strongly preferred)
  • Collaborate with hematology/oncology physicians and clinical staff to ensure coordinated patient care
  • Document patient care accurately and timely in the EMR system

Qualifications:

  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with active Connecticut license
  • Hematology oncology experience required
  • Ability to manage benign hematology independently is strongly preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
  • Current BLS certification
