Providers must be flexible to cover days, nights, and weekends. The main hospital may offer shorter-than-12-hour shifts, while the freestanding ED requires 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Board certification in Emergency Medicine or eligible status required by ABEM or AOBEM.
• Board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine with Emergency Medicine experience accepted.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required.
• Active Florida medical license is required.

Job description

We are seeking experienced Emergency MedicinePhysicians for locums coverage in Winter Haven, Florida. Thisopportunity includes coverage at a freestanding emergency setting fullyintegrated with a nearby hospital campus, with access to comprehensiveinpatient and specialty services.

Position Highlights

• Providersmust be flexible to work days, nights, and weekends
• Preferencefor physicians who are willing to cover both the main hospitaland affiliated freestanding emergency departments
• Main hospital: May considershifts shorter than 12 hours
• Freestanding emergencydepartments: 12-hour shifts required
• Projected Annual ED Volume: Approximately 19,000 visits
• Averagevolume of approximately 52 patients per day
• 12 private patient care beds
• Dedicatedtrauma room
• Dedicatedpediatric treatment room

Clinical Environment

Theemergency department is fully integrated with the affiliated hospital campusand provides access to comprehensive specialty and inpatient services. Patientsrequiring admission will be transported to the main hospital campus or anotheraffiliated facility, with seamless handoff to intensivists, hospitalists, andspecialists.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligiblein Emergency Medicine through:
  • AmericanBoard of Emergency Medicine (ABEM), or
  • AmericanOsteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM)
• ORBoard Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicinewith a minimum of 3 years of Emergency Medicine experience
• ACLS required
• PALS required
• ActiveFlorida medical license
